Family Programs
Our Family Programs are designed for families with children ages 3-12. We hope to see you and your family at the Museum soon!

Family Visits
Visiting a museum with your family can be a meaningful experience. See below for ways you can maximize your visit for everyone in the family!
Looking Together
Children can learn a tremendous amount by looking closely at works of art: they can sharpen their observational skills, tap into their imaginations, and develop an arts vocabulary that allows them to respond to what they are seeing. To help encourage closer looking within the galleries, we suggest you:
- Ask open-ended questions such as: "What do you see in this work?" followed by "What do you see that makes you say that?";
- Play "I Spy" with things like texture, shapes, and objects depicted within the works; and
- Bring a pencil (not pen) and paper to the gallery to sketch a work or to write a story about a work of art that interests you.
Family Guide
For special exhibitions, we offer a guide for families to help navigate the galleries. These guides are free and available at the front desk of the Museum, and include information about the exhibition, artists, and interactive activities you can do with your child.
Family Corners
Located right in the midst of our galleries, our Family Corners offer a way that you and your kids can sit, play with objects, read picture books, and think about what you have seen. Family Corners are designed specifically with kids in mind so be sure to stop by during your visit.
