The mission of the Mississippi Museum of Art Affiliate Network, which consists of nearly 30 not-for-profit organizations in Mississippi, is to increase the engagement of the state’s many communities in the visual arts by utilizing the Museum’s most significant resource—artworks from the Mississippi Museum of Art’s Permanent Collection. The Affiliate Network Program is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Teaching Fellows are full-time students at Belhaven University, Jackson State University, Millsaps College, or Tougaloo College who were chosen for their academic rigor and interest in teaching and museums. Coming from a breadth of disciplinary interests, they are extensively trained on the museum’s permanent collection on an ongoing basis. The Magnificent Masterpiece Showcase features student artwork from schools taking part in the Whole Schools Initiative, an arts-integrated teaching program sponsored by the Mississippi Arts Commission. This one-night pop-up exhibition showcases art from 26 schools across the state of Mississippi.
