Erica McDaniel | Mapping a Modern MS
Tuesday, October 4, 2016
Erica McDaniel is a fifth-grade teacher and DJ in Natchez, Mississippi. Born into music, Erica has spent her life making music and is currently working more with technology-driven techniques. The possibilities of combining music and learning are limitless, and Erica hopes to incorporate the two in her classroom.
“I also want to do, eventually, have after-school programs where kids can come, and we can make fun songs about science or math. And then share that with the world, like Teachers Pay Teachers, or share that with some sort of website that I can share with other teachers that they can use in their classrooms. There’s no better way to teach math and science than through little rap songs and little hip-hop songs that are saying things that are important and that go with the curriculum.”-Erica
