Art and Coffee is an opportunity to slow down with fellow art lovers in a casual morning learning space. Join Museum staff and special guests to look at and discuss current and upcoming exhibitions through the lens of how we engage art as a group.
This month, Art and Coffee hosts spoken-word artist Monica Atkins and Civil Rights Movement veteran, Hollis Watkins, for an interactive tour of the galleries, punctuated by performances inspired by specific works in the Museum’s bicentennial exhibition. After time spent in the exhibition, we come together in the gallery of White Gold: Thomas Sayre to learn and perform contemporary and traditional freedom songs.
Coffee is served.
This event is free and open to the public.
Art and Coffee occurs the first Saturday of every month.
