Bradley Phillips’ portrait, Leontyne Price, is a highlight of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. It now makes a rare appearance at the Mississippi Museum of Art for its bicentennial exhibition. Join Curator Jochen Wierich as he explores this portrait, considering the extraordinary career that took her from her home town of Laurel, Mississippi, to the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

Gallery talks offer visitors the chance to engage with a single work, or pairing of works, for a 30-minute talk led by Museum curators and educators, as well as local artists and scholars.
