This month, Chef Nick Wallace reclaims the symbolism of the 1960s Southern lunch counter and honors the courage of homegrown activists, like Mississippian Dorie Ladner (Ladner was arrested while fighting to integrate the Woolworth's lunch counter in Jackson in 1963). Lunch Counter 2.0 reimagines short-order diner classics with a modern twist and a side helping of history, and invites diners of all backgrounds to share a common table.

Each month, for a limited time, Culinary Curator and Executive Chef Nick Wallace of the Mississippi Museum of Art creates a three-day pop up menu highlighting product from Mississippi purveyors. These menus are inspired by seasonal ingredients and rooted in Mississippi artistic and culinary stories and traditions ‘sipp Sourced is sponsored by Capital City Beverages.
