Museum After Hours | Currents & Connections

Thursday, November 15, 2018

5:30 - until

Every third Thursday, the Museum opens its doors after hours to partner with and embrace Mississippi’s creative community!

The November theme is inspired by the upcoming opening of Water/Ways–a traveling exhibit presented by a partnership of the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum on Main Street division and the Mississippi Humanities Council–at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum in early December.

5:30-10 PM – Currents & Connections: A pop-up exhibition of artwork depicting bodies of water in Mississippi pulled from the Museum's permanent collection and photographs created by local artists Ashleigh Coleman, Imani Khayyam, and Ellen Rogers.

5:30-7:30 PM – Art Lab: Ink Marbling

6-7:30 PM – High Note Jam: Scott Albert Johnson
Presented in partnership with the Greater Jackson Arts Council

7:30 PM – Dance performance of First Noel by the Ballet Magnificat's Youth Ballet

7:45 PM – 15-Minute Art Ramble with Mr. Bill

8 PM – Screen on the Green: Annie
Presented in partnership with Crossroads Film Festival

Until 8 PM – The Museum Store, galleries, and La Brioche at the Museum open

This event is free and open to the public.

Cash bar; food available for purchase from La Brioche at the Museum and food trucks in The Art Garden. Food trucks: JB & Son’s BBQ and One Stop Concessions

Due to the colder temperatures, events will be held inside the Trustmark Grand Hall.
