Unburied Treasures:
Made in America

Schedule 2008

Initiated in 2003, “Unburied Treasures” is a monthly humanities series presented by the Mississippi Museum of Art (the Museum) April through December that celebrates visual art, music and literature. Each one-hour program features a work from the Museum’s permanent collection and includes guest artists, musicians and readers.  The 2008 series is based on artists whose works are included one of the year’s exhibitions, and who are also represented in the Museum’s collection.  During the series, scholars and practitioners in the visual arts, literature and music give brief presentations to help the audience understand the artwork, the era, and environment from which it came.
