The Fourth Annual Town Creek Arts Festival is presented in conjunction with innovative gallery Art Space 86, led by artists Jerrod Partridge and David West, in The Art Garden at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Downtown Jackson (380 South Lamar Street). This year’s art component centers around a custom built Art Space 86 pop up gallery situated on the open lawn of the BankPlus Green. Open from 10 AM to 6 PM, this installation showcases works for sale by contemporary Mississippi artists. Also included in this unprecedented gallery space is The Big Draw Mississippi, part of an international art-making movement where visitors are invited to participate in the creation of a free form mural. (The 2014 Mississippi Invitational exhibition, also opening on November 1, will be on view inside the Museum from 10 AM – 5 PM.)

The morning of the Town Creek Arts Festival kicks off at 9 AM with a kid's breakfast at The Palette Café by Viking to celebrate the fall exhibition, Spanish Sojourns: Robert Henri and the Spirit of Spain, complete with special activities, a reading of Ferdinand the Bull, and an appearance by and photo opportunities with Ferdinand himself (Limited seating; advance tickets available here). From 10 AM to 2 PM, hands-on educational activities for children are provided throughout The Art Garden in partnership with local attractions and organizations, including the Mississippi Childrens Museum, The Jackson Zoo, and the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum. The afternoon continues with musical performers in The Art Garden and on the C Spire Stage and encounters with art throughout the garden and the BankPlus Green. An added component to this years festival is a craft beer garden celebrating seasonal brews hosted by Southern Beverage Company.

The festival concludes with a Mississippi-Made concert from 6 PM - until featuring multi-talented Mississippi artists performing music inspired by the creativity of the state. Performers include Little Manpowsky, The Delicate Cycle, Wyatt Waters, Eric Stracener & The Frustrations, and The Cynical Twins. Dinner, also beginning at 6 PM, is available for purchase from a variety of local food trucks, Lurny Ds, Titos Tacos, and One Guy Steak and Chicken.

This year, the festival is held in partnership with Downtown on Display, where Jackson businesses and landmarks open their doors to visitors to showcase architectural spaces that are rarely seen by the public. Downtown on Display is organized by Downtown Jackson Partners.

Cost: Free to the public, cash bar and food available for purchase
