Join us for a night full of the in-gallery performances of the inaugural Creative Interpretations Cohort. Performances will showcase writing, dance, and music inspired by MMA’s special exhibition Of Salt and Spirit: Black Quilters in the American South.  

About the Creative Interpretations Cohort
Creative Interpretations Cohort invites a group of young creatives to engage with the arts by studying a multitude of practices. After workshops and tours in MMA’s galleries, performers were chosen to represent their organizations and creatively respond to works on view in the galleries in their preferred artistic medium. 

About Kinetic Etchings
Kinetic Etchings is a professional contemporary dance company based in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. As Kinetic Etchings enters their ninth season they are focused on fulfilling their mission to bring original, engaging, and educational dance experiences to their community. Kinetic Etchings is a member of the Mississippi Arts Commission Artistic Roster and a partner in dance education at four local schools where professional dancers bring creative movement to students of all ages.
