Group Visits
The Mississippi Museum of Art offers a variety of tours to enrich the experience for groups of all ages. Some of our tours are offered regularly and do not require pre-registration, while others require advanced notice. Check out our current tour options for groups as you plan your visit!
Guided tours involve looking closely at works of art followed by a facilitated conversation, allowing viewers to make discoveries about the art. Background information about the artist and the historical and cultural context of the work will be woven into the conversation by your trained gallery educator. These tours access the viewer’s prior knowledge and help validate each person’s individual perspective while encouraging moments of deep thought and self-discovery.

Experiences with original works of art can be transformative for students. The Museum makes these opportunities accessible to all students, K-12 and beyond, through a variety of guided and self-guided tours and experiences.
School group visits to the Museum’s permanent collection are FREE but require pre-registration. During ticketed exhibitions, the Museum offers free admission for K-12 students on Tuesdays and Thursdays thanks to Feild Co-Operative Association and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi.
Schools must request either a Guided Tour or Self Guided Visit with their students a minimum of two weeks in advance of their intended visit. Learn about our full school group tour offerings and request your visit here.
Public Tours
The Museum offers tours of the permanent collection exhibition on Sundays at 2pm.
