In this first Artist Look Tour, we are pleased to have mixed media artist Claire Whitehurst in the galleries of Piercing the Inner Wall: The Art of Dusti Bongé.

About Claire:
Claire Whitehurst is a painter, printmaker and ceramicist living and working in Jackson, MS. She received her MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Iowa. She was born in Louisiana and raised in Mississippi and draws heavily from the landscape and atmosphere of the south. Her work explores dreams, stories, memory, time, confusion, identity, happiness, and grief through color, form, texture and pattern. Paintings, prints, and ceramic sculpture play with the boundaries of emotional performance through formal qualities as well as the metaphysical relationships we have between image and object and what is left unsaid between those things.
