AT&T presents Makers in Their Spaces | Rob Cooper

AT&T presents Makers in Their Spaces is an online offering in which MMA’s virtual participants are invited into the creative space – physical, mental, social, or otherwise – of a maker, thereby giving them unique insight into how that particular artist draws inspiration from their surroundings during this time.

Join us Saturday, August 21 at 10 AM, on InstagramFacebook, or YouTube, as stained-glass artist, Rob Cooper, takes us on a virtual tour of his studio. Viewers will learn more about his process and see current works in progress.

On Monday, August 23 at 6 PM, join us on Instagram live, as we host an interactive discussion with Rob Cooper. We will learn more about Rob’s work and favorite pieces to date.

About the Maker
Rob Cooper was born in Jackson, MS, and continues to call it his home base today. In 1994, he was introduced to the medium of stained glass through an internship with Andrew Carey Young at Pearl River Glass Studio where he continues to work as head painter. With only a few years away from the studio to receive a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in the late 90s, he has been steadily building a skill set that incorporates many approaches to creating detailed imagery with glass. From playing mad scientist with acid etching, to refining delicate applications of vitreous paint on glass, Rob has created many works for churches across the south and has simultaneously carved a niche in the medium with his personal work that is gaining attention of collectors abroad including author Neil Gaiman most recently.
