Curator Talk | Call and Response with Rujeko Hockley

Curator Talk | Call and Response with Rujeko Hockley

What does it mean to challenge the status quo and embrace a culture of change? In this presentation, Rujeko Hockley, assistant curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art, connects the work within Betye Saar: Call and Response with how leaders in the art industry can reframe narratives, open spaces, and use art as a way to build deep relationships with community. Additionally, she will discuss her renowned exhibition We Wanted A Revolution and her relationship to Wide Awakes, a collective calling for change within the political structures of America.

We will be hosting this event on Zoom Webinar and screen the presentation in the Trustmark Grand Hall. Cash bar will be available. When registering, please select how you plan to attend the program. This program is free, but registration is required.
