Extended Fall CEU Workshop: Taking Flight with Interdisciplinary Exploration

Extended Fall CEU Workshop: Taking Flight with Interdisciplinary Exploration

Interdisciplinary exploration and community collectives were fundamental to the life and work of artist and activist, Joe Overstreet. This educator workshop will investigate the intersections of visual art, theater, music, and dance and how these disciplines have historically been instrumental in social and political activism.

Through hands-on, participatory instruction and close looking conversations in the galleries, educators will respond to the major themes in the Joe Overstreet: Taking Flight exhibition.

This free, full day CEU workshop is open to the first 25 K-12 current public, private, or homeschool educators to register. Educators will have the option to receive 0.6 CEUs for the 9 AM-4 PM session in the classroom and galleries or 1.2 CEUs for participating in the 9 AM-8PM session that will include work in the classroom, galleries, as well as responding to a live performance by the JSU African Drum and Dance Ensemble.

Refreshments, lunch, and CEUs provided.
