Explore, learn, and create with MMA as we celebrate the closing of the 2021 Mississippi Invitational with art activities for the entire family! In this special, COVID-conscious Family Day, we will share 100 FREE art kits that encourage hands-on learning and creativity to take home for a fun-filled day.
Each Family Day art kit will introduce families to art and artists on view in the 2021 Mississippi Invitational, complete with full activity supplies and step-by-step instructions. We will hand out kits starting at 9:30 AM until 12:30 PM (or until we run out), so please arrive early to stop by and take one home for art fun with the family. Family Day art kits are curated for a variety of ages, and we encourage adult participation and supervision with activities.
What can you do with your art kit? Here’s a few of our prepared activities:
Create your own unique cyanotype, or sun print, inspired by artists Gregory Walker and Pat Galluzzo.
Take a closer look at Tributary 2 by Nicole Dikon and collage your own unique piece inspired by leaves, trees, flowers, or anything you can easily spot in nature.
Turn the page on your very own Zine, just like Nathan Pietrykowski’s Wandering Party (Zine).
