For this performance of Music in the City, we are delighted to present Adam Almeter and Tyler Kemp.
Tyler Kemp: An accomplished pianist and collaborator, Tyler Kemp has become an essential part of musical life in Jackson, MS. His captivating and exciting performances of classical, jazz, and pop music showcase confidence and fluency in all genres. Tyler joined the faculty of Mississippi College in 2014, and also serves as music director at Bellwether Church. He frequently directs shows for the Mississippi Opera Cabaret Series, and is a founding member of NEW JXN, a new music ensemble based in Jackson.
Adam Almeter: Originally from Naperville, IL, Adam Almeter has been principal trombone of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra for 5 years. During his time in Mississippi, he has also played for the Mississippi Opera, Delta and Meridian Symphony Orchestras, and Festival South in Hattiesburg. Adam is also a member of NEW JXN, a local ensemble that promotes Mississippi artists with genre mixing pieces and venues. Adam also teaches at Mississippi and Millsaps Colleges and Belhaven University. Prior to coming to Mississippi, Adam received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University. His primary teachers have been Peter Ellefson, Max Bonecutter, and Dee Stewart.
