About Katrina Cox
Dr. Katrina L. Cox, a Laurel, MS native, is an accomplished vocalist and educator with degrees from William Carey University, SUNY Binghamton, and The University of Southern Mississippi. She has performed extensively in opera, jazz, and oratorio, appearing with Tri-Cities Opera, Opera North, and various ensembles. Dr. Cox has been a featured artist at major festivals, including the Natchez Festival of Music and Festival South, and has performed leading roles in The Color Purple, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Suor Angelica. As a director, she has led productions of Pippin and Jekyll and Hyde at WCU. A dedicated educator, Dr. Cox is an Assistant Professor of Music at William Carey University, where she teaches voice and musical theatre and directs Carpenter’s Wood. She is highly sought after for her expertise in cross-genre vocal training and recently led a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, offering masterclasses and mentorship for aspiring musicians.
