Prints & Pints

Prints & Pints

Create your own poster inspired by work in the special exhibition Jamal Cyrus: The End of My Beginning. An artist will demonstrate how to create a collagraph prints using a variety of materials.

What is a collagraph?

A collagraph is a simple and very open printmaking process. Materials and textured objects (like bubble wrap, leaves, or rice) are glued to a rigid substrate like cardboard. When the glue is dry, and the materials are fixed in place, the materials are inked up or painted and then pressed onto paper to create an image. The process can be surprising and unpredictable and produce the lovely tonal and textural variations that are associated with traditional printmaking processes.
