The Art of Self-Discovery initiative invites five local Jackson artists from all backgrounds to embark on a creative journey through personal narratives and familial histories. This unique opportunity encourages artists to delve into the rich tapestry of their own family stories and explore the archives of their histories for inspiration to craft new and meaningful artworks.
At the end of this process, the collective will share their journeys and the stories behind their creations in a culminating pop-up exhibition for our September Museum After Hours: The Art of Self-Discovery, fostering dialogue and understanding with fellow artists and community members through art.
All selected artists will receive a $150 supplies stipend to support your creative process.
Applications close at noon on June 17, 2024.
